I wanted to do the responsible thing and recycle my old rechargeable batteries. So I thought I would bring them to the Kane County Electronics and Books recycling collection that is held the 2nd Friday and Saturday of the month (http://www.co.kane.il.us/Environment/recycle/electronic.htm). Batteries are electronics, right? Well, it turns out they are not collected at this monthly event.
So where do you bring your used rechargeable batteries so they don’t end up in a land fill? I found a website (http://www.call2recycle.org/) that all you simply have to do is plug in your zip code and it will give you a list of drop off points for batteries and cell phones in your area. I think this site works throughout the US and Canada.
Check out this website. It will help you in your quest to live green.
As always, thanks for reading my blog, and when you have finished reading it, please recycle it.

Awesome post. Do you mind if I ask what your source is for this information?

Thanks for checking out my blog. As for my source, this one was simply me. After talking with the personnel at the Kane County recycling event, I did some searching on the web to find a resource to recycle my rechargeable batteries. As a bonus, I found that this resource also accepts old cell phones and puts them to use for others who need a phone for emergencies.

It’s interesting to see this point of view. I can’t say fore sure if I agree or not, but it is something I will think about now.
